Certificate in Executive

and Corporate Coaching

Are you looking to add corporate and organisational coaching skills to your toolkit?

Join our Certificate in Executive and Corporate Coaching and take the next step in your coaching journey.

Coaching enables awareness, development, performance and wellbeing. It is widely embraced by corporations of all kinds, from start-ups to global firms and across commercial, social enterprise, charitable and public sectors.

To succeed amid today’s challenges – political and economic volatility, digital disruption, social change, climate sustainability, COVID-19 and more – organisations need resilient and adaptable people who can do their own job well, learn from experience and collaborate with colleagues.

Together they must create value not only for traditional customers and shareholders, but for each other as colleagues and for diverse stakeholder groups including communities, business partners and the environment.

The corporate coaching market keeps growing because coaching helps this happen. Corporate coaching helps people in organisations thrive and succeed.

No longer restricted to senior executives or selected rising stars, corporate coaching is increasingly provided to people at all levels, wherever it can make the most difference, on demand and online.

Module 1

Navigating the Corporate Environment

Module 1 explores the structures and processes that drive outstanding delivery of coaching assignments while boosting your skills and impact in the critical moments of coaching.

Enabling coaching clients to succeed in their work, enjoy their careers and achieve work-life balance requires corporate coaches to excel in a wide range of skills.

Coaches need to be credible, ethical, authentic and able to manage assignments from first contact to final evaluation, as well as add value through the coaching itself.

In a rich mix of trainer-led sessions, experiential exercises, peer exchange and coaching practice, you will learn to:

  • Engage effectively with commissioners of corporate coaching
  • Manage the process of multi-party contracting and designing the coaching agenda
  • Use a range of coaching models to help clients work on key workplace issues such as managing time, focusing effort and improving working relationships
  • Enable clients to identify and shift unhelpful patterns in their working relationships
  • Recognise when power dynamics are in play, and maintain an effective coach-client relationship
  • Work with clients and sponsors to evaluate coaching assignments
  • Respond with confidence to the ethical issues that can arise in corporate coaching

Module 2

Enabling Integrated Change

Module 2 empowers coaches to work at depth with their corporate clients and ensure change is sustained.

Corporate coaching often looks to tangible outcomes for clients and organisations – measurable shifts in performance, skills, behaviour, relationships and employee engagement or culture.

When seen as a business investment in valued people, a focus on results is no surprise. However, achieving and sustaining such visible results often requires shifts in the client’s invisible inner world of thoughts, feelings, beliefs and capacity for change.

To be fully effective, corporate coaches need the skills, methods, confidence and judgement to work in both the inner and outer worlds, potentially overcoming client resistance such as wanting quick solutions, scepticism about value, or discomfort with topics that might be termed ‘fluffy’, ‘woo-woo’ or ‘psychobabble’.

Enabling Integrated Change draws on the psychology of emotional intelligence, change and adult development. It equips coaches to work more confidently, credibly and effectively with clients on their inner world and unlock change in their outer behaviours, performance and impact.

In a rich mix of trainer-led sessions, experiential exercises, peer exchange and coaching practice, you will learn to:

  • Invite clients to be curious, courageous and compassionate in exploring their inner world
  • Focus clients’ attention less on their ‘doing’ and more on their ‘being’
  • Facilitate the shift from a reactive mindset to an adaptive mindset
  • Work more skilfully with emotions, including building awareness, processing capability, presence and exploring influence on performance
  • Utilise cognitive-behavioural approaches to challenge faulty thinking and limiting beliefs
  • Apply the psychology of strengths to increase confidence, energy and persistence in pursuing goals
  • Help clients to uncover, balance and leverage their values
  • Enable clients to recognise and overcome their personal immunity to change

Module 3

Working with Diagnostic Tools

Module 3 explores the role of personality profiling and 360° feedback in corporate coaching.

These tools are in widespread use in organisations of all kinds, and can be a powerful element of any coach’s toolkit. Organisations value these tools for the personal insight gained by individual clients, the collective insight gained when results are aggregated, the creation of a common language about how people work and as a potential impact measure for coaching and development programmes.

Personality profiles provide a framework to describe our preferences, traits and motivations. Having a lens and a language to recognise personal needs and respond to others’ needs through adapting behaviours can help improve communication, relationships, and influence.

360° feedback provides a picture of someone’s behaviours and their impact on colleagues. Through a combination of numerical ratings and written comments, reports may highlight important gaps between intention and impact, revealing blind spots and catalysing change, or uncovering hidden strengths and how they can be leveraged.

Many diagnostic tools require coaches to complete a practitioner accreditation or licence. However, personal experience of diagnostic tools, and knowledge of core principles and good practices for their use in coaching, are an asset to any coach.

In a rich mix of trainer-led sessions, experiential exercises, peer exchange and coaching practice, you will learn about:

  • Two contrasting models of personality
  • A range of tools based on each model, and on combined approaches
  • How each model describes our inner world and links this to our outer behaviour
  • Your own personality traits, and how they influence your coaching style
  • Principles and good practices for exploring personality with coaching clients
  • The development and design of 360° feedback tools
  • Interpreting 360° feedback reports, without becoming ‘the expert’
  • Principles and good practices for working with 360° feedback in a client-centred way

What Past Participants Have Said

The Accredited Certificate in Corporate Coaching is a well-structured and professionally delivered course. It has everything you would expect from Animas; from best practice to well-founded theory supported by real-life practical examples and associated activities including open discussions, coaching and supervision.

I have trained with Animas before, but I still researched a number of alternative corporate and executive courses prior to signing up. Many are expensive Diplomas – all accredited, with some being short (40 hours) and others long (600 hours).

Whilst sometimes no bad thing, I did not want to go back to basics with coaching and re-learn some of what I already knew. I wanted a course that built on my existing knowledge and experience whilst offering value for money. In reality, I learned much more than expected and, as always with Animas, I met some great people and made connections along the way.

So, if you want to equip yourself with the knowledge and techniques that allow you to practice effectively with first line managers and above for a modest level of investment, then this course is most definitely for you."

Michael Banks,

Personal & Executive Coach

This course came along at a perfect time for me. Although I have been happily working as a life coach for the past couple of years, I had avoided reaching out to the many contacts I have in the corporate world I worked in for almost 30 years. Maybe that imposter in my head had been holding me back.

This course has firmly put the imposter back in his box.

I can't stress how much I looked forward to my Saturday sessions with Mia and my fellow participants. She designed and delivered a hugely experiential series of content over the six week course, always enriched by relevant anecdotes from her own career as a corporate coach. Given we were learning a vast amount of new info and tools/techniques, Mia’s calm and engaging style meant that the course was always perfectly paced.

I’ve come away from the course feeling I now have the tools in my locker to engage sponsors and coachees in a more professional manner in the workplace. And as coaching can still feel fluffy and “wu-wu” to some in the corporate world, I am now confident in articulating the power and benefits of coaching in the corporate world to sponsors, individuals being coached, teams and the whole organisation.

This was a great investment in my future.

Adam Collins,

I have just finished my training in Corporate Coaching with Mia at Animas and if I had to choose one word to describe this experience that would be fabulous!

Those 6 days have been pretty intense and rich - full of very interesting discussions and tools. I feel enriched and definitely more confident in applying those tools in my work.

Mia is an extraordinary trainer and facilitator. She demonstrated professionalism and at the same time flexibility and ease.

I loved every module and I strongly recommend this course to whoever wants to work in the corporate world or with leaders in general."

Davide Barbuto - Engineering Manager,

Leadership and Life Coach

The course offered me a space to build confidence and skill in the context of corporate coaching. Mia brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the course curriculum.

She is generous with her knowledge, experience and insight offering additional models or ideas where relevant. This allows for a rounded experience that meets the needs of the individuals as well as the collective."
